Race, sex and class are egoistic, political tools most often used to overlook those who really suffer!

A black voice ("no fan of Bush") on New Orleans:

"All of the men I saw come down from the helicopters were white. The majority of the people plucked from the rooftops were black. Yet those white rescuers didn't seem to care what the victims looked like. The rescuers were energetic and compassionate. In one incident, a white Coastguardsman and a black guy stranded on a rooftop embraced as though they were brothers. Tears filled my eyes. That scene made me extremely proud to be an American"

Klevius comment: That's precisely how I felt (except that I'm not, unfortunately, an American) when I saw black girls on a San Francisco Muni-station steering with hatred against white non-American girls they certainly didn't know and who were certainly not behaving or dressed as to challenge anyone! I got tears in my eyes, too... In fact, most of the blacks in SF that seemed open for a white hug from a stranger, usually came from elsewhere! But there were, of course, nice exceptions to that rule too.

Another European in NO: "British (Caucasian) tourists trapped in New Orleans were subject to terrifying racism" He said: "The hostility towards us was astonishing. We certainly felt victims of racism."
